Yesterday, Nokia announced the entry into force of the strategic agreement with HMD Global Oy (HMD), which was announced back in May this year.
HMD also confirmed the settlement of all issues between the HMD, FIH Mobile Limited (a division of Hon Hai Precision Industries and Foxconn Technology Group), as well as Microsoft. This means that HMD becomes the new home of Nokia mobile devices in the next 10 years and can start producing new products.
Nokia says its mobile phones were and are popular in many countries around the world, and in the near time HMD will present a new line of smartphones and tablets.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nokia will receive royalties from every smartphone and tablet, which will be sold HMD. At the same time Nokia is neither an investor nor HMD shareholder.
