The most powerful of all is the Snapdragon 653 which – according to the company – should offer superior performance up to 10% compared to its predecessor Snapdragon 652. It can handle twice of RAM and supports up to 8GB of memory. And ‘an octa-core processor with four core ARM Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 low-power, Adreno 510 graphics and support for hardware acceleration of video H.265 / HEVC, as well as for display with resolutions higher than 2560 x 1600 pixels and up to 21 megapixel cameras
Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 instead replaces pin-to-pin predecessor Snapdragon 625, but should offer better wireless reception and performance higher than 10%. The processor provides eight-core ARM Cortex-A53, Adreno 506 graphics and support for display of 1920 x 1200 pixels and 24 MP cameras.
The last, and also the cheapest, is Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 happens at Snapdragon 425 and is targeted to low-cost devices. It supports video resolutions up to 1280 x 800 pixels, 16MP cameras up and has four core ARM Cortex-A53 and graphics Adreno 308.
The three processors support the rapid charging technology Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and all integrate a X9 LTE modem with download speeds up to 300 Mbps and upload up to 150 Mbps. And, considering the growing appetite for smartphones with cameras of the highest quality by customers and manufacturers, all three of the SoC will also support dual-chamber configurations.
According to an announcement by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon SoC 600-series will be available in the autumn while the Snapdragon 427 will hit the market in early 2017. At the same summit, the company of San Diego announced Snapdragon X50 the first modem 5G (although it is one still under development standards) designed to support OEMs in delivering next-generation smartphones, operators with trials and early deployments of 5G technology. With Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 is still the first company to launch a commercial modem 5G solution.
