Qualcomm, in collaboration with Ericsson, Telstra and Netgear introduced what they claim is the world’s first mobile device and mobile network that reaches a Gigabit / s. The network was developed by Ericsson and will be launched commercially in Australia in the coming months.
Qualcomm has also announced Snapdragon X50 – the company’s first 5G modem. It supports download speeds of up to 5Gbps. The modem can interface with Snapdragon chip having integrated modem and so as to connect both 4G and 5G. The first mobile devices with Snapdragon X50 will first 2018.
Netgear contributes mobile router MR1100 including utilizes 4 × 4 MIMO, 256-QAM and LTE modem Snapdragon X16 to reach 979Mbps as maximum download speed.
