According to the analysis and research firm analysts Superdata the “big loser” of this Black Friday is Playstation VR .

Recent reports have highlighted that VR viewer Sony Home during the anniversary of Black Friday reported sales below expectations . This result has led analysts of Superdata to revise their sales forecasts related to Playstation VR initially set at 2.6 million units by the end of ‘ year . Now the situation is very different however is the managers of the company have lowered the figure greatly bringing it to 750,000 units by the end of 2016.

Stephanie Llamas, Director of Research at Superdata, said:

Playstation VR was the viewer with the best sales opportunities for these holidays but the absence of a proper marketing and the inconsistency the supply of are the two aspects that have significantly lowered the sales potential of the device.

They preferred to push Playstation 4 Pro, stressing that the Virtual Reality is better than that of the new hardware and Playstation 4 Playstation 4 Slim, and the message was understood: Buy now and later Playstation PS4 PRO VR. We are confident that the Playstation VR will not exceed one million units shipped, at least for this year.

Superdata has however also revised sales forecasts related to Google Daydream that from 450,000 units down to 216,000 while there remain unchanged expectations related to Oculus Rift (355K), HTC Lives (450K) and Gear VR (2.3 million.)

At this point we just have to wait in order to find out if the sales forecast of the note of analysis and research will reflect the reality.
