MediaTek MT2511 and MT2523 will be available for producers by the beginning of 2017 but, at least initially, will be reserved for emerging markets, including India and China. It will be so hard to find these chips in wearable “our house” but – as usual – who will want to get your hands on one of these devices, you can buy it on Asian online shop that also distribute in Italy, adding taxes and customs duties.
MediaTek MT2511 is the first Chinese chip company with functions of bio-sensing analog front end (AFE) while MediaTek MT2523 is designed for fitness smartwatch and active-band and is the first the family to integrate a system-in-package (SiP) offering GPS, Bluetooth low energy dual-mode and support MIPI (which stands for Mobile Industry Processor Interface) for high-resolution screens Mobile. Are essentially SoC for high-end devices, with special functions, just as wearable we tested on the Hong Kong fair.
Maysunm W10 which you can see in the photos and video hands-on made a few hours ago, is one of the first smartwatch fitness-oriented with MediaTek MT2523 SoC (but there are also variants with MediaTek MT2511). It has nothing different than other fitness trackers outstanding: its design is very special, but the hardware equipment can be described as classic. It has a display PAMOLED by 0.96 inches 128MB of RAM and 64MB of internal memory a 200 mAh Battery (a battery life of 3-4 days ), Bluetooth 3.0 or 4.0 and all major sensors of a smartband. Despite being a low-cost device, Maysunm W10 has functions pedometer, sleep monitors, calories burnt and distance covered. Monitors and calculates the heart rate and also Blood pressure .
MediaTek MT2511 and MT2523 chips are highly efficient, with “heart beat interval” technology that ensures the control of heart rate even in “sleep” mode and SRAM 4KB to optimize consumption. Can acquire the physical parameters through the electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmography (PPG) at the same time.
