MediaTek expands the catalog of SoC for the mobile devices of Helio X20 family by presenting two new models: Helio X23 and Helio X27 . The business card is made of improved performance, higher quality camera module and further optimizations introduced to curb the energy consumption.

The new models are presented as an upgrade from previous Helio X20 and X25: both are characterized by the architecture Mediatek Tri-Cluster deca-core (2-core ARM Cortex-A72 + 4 cores ARM Cortex-A53 + 4 core ARM Cortex-A53) and technology CorePilot 3.0 developed to maximize energy efficiency without negative impact on performance (information on this technology can be found in the White Paper published by MediaTek).

Nell ‘ Helio X27 ARM Cortex A72 cores operate at a frequency of 2.6 GHz while the GPU ARM Mali 875MHz to that of . Compared with the previous X25 gain in performance is quantified by MediaTek in the order of 20% with effect perceptible user side during web browsing activities and the launch of the app, characterized by reduced time.

Both Helio X27, X23 support is Helio photographic modules dual sensor Thanks to dedicated image processor Imagiq . A distinctive feature of the new ISP is the ability to combine in a single chip the components necessary to manage the double cam with detection depth of field and color and monochrome modules. In concrete terms, the company promises a significant increase in photographic performance with specific reference to the saturation parameters, the exposure control and the results of the commissioning system management phase detection fire.

Worthy of mention is also the energy-saving technology Miravision EnergySmart Screen is intended to manage dynamically – ie based on the content displayed on the screen and the lighting conditions – energy consumption the display that can be reduced up to 25%. In the aim to optimize fuel consumption, has been employed l ‘ Envelope Tracking Module which dynamically optimizes power consumption by adjusting the output voltage depending on the intensity of the power signal – an average of 15 % during peaks.

MediaTek announced that the first smartphone equipped with new SoC Heli Helio X23 and X27 will be available soon without going into more detail on the exact timing.
