KEF presented the speakers LS50 Wireless a version active (then with amplification integrated ) of the previous LS50. The basic specifications are the same as passive model. Then we find a configuration of two ways characterized by the driver Uni-Q . High frequencies are handled by an aluminum tweeter 25 mm while medium and low frequencies are handled by a transducer magnesium alloy / aluminum 130 mm.

The answer frequency varies depending on the settings: mode with greater bass extension, ranging from 45Hz to 28kHz. The sound pressure amounted to a maximum of 106dB. Inside the speakers are contained four amplifiers, two each . Two 30W amplifiers are run by tweeters and two 200W deal with transducers for medium and low frequencies.

The digital-to-analog conversion is performed by two DACs for each channel . The DAC can handle sampling frequencies up to 192kHz / 24-bit . Connectivity is very complete: we find Wi-Fi (802.11a / b / g / n), dual-band, the Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX a USB Type-B ( asynchronous) for connection to a PC, an optical digital input, a stereo analog input on RCA connectors, an Ethernet port and an RJ45 connector to connect the two speakers.

for better performance, you can set the speakers to match the type of installation. You can choose between the placement of a floor or on a stand, or away from the wall. The touch controls are located on one of the speakers but you can also resort to a ‘ app for iOS and Android devices.

The LS50 Wireless measuring 300 x 200 x 308 mm and weigh 10.2 kilograms each. The colors available are titanium gray with Uni-Q driver red, gloss black with Uni-Q Blue and gloss white driver with Uni-Q driver copper color.
