Fitbit, one of the most established companies in the fitness wearable market is very attractive to acquire Pebble, the smartwatch known manufacturer also compatible with iOS.

Fitbit would be interested in Pebble intellectual property, including the operating system for smartwatch made in-house. Precisely for this reason, if the deal goes through, the Pebble brand will no longer be used and the operating system will be revised to be integrated into Fitbit terminals.

Pebble was one of the first manufacturers of smartwatch compatible with iOS and Android, so as to have conquered millions of users with its first devices. But the competition has changed things, and in recent months the company has been struggling to stay afloat since sales of the latest models are going slowly.

On the other hand, Fitbit continues to dominate the market for wearable fitness, and now could also propose wearable classic exploiting the Pebble skills. The figure for the acquisition would be around $ 40 million.
