In modern films can often be seen as one or another group of hackers (or just one person) have access to any data -So large corporation and then uses the data in some way.

Of course, in a movie that happens much more frequently than in real life, but in the latter case, the consequences are real, too. According to sources, unidentified hackers broke into the security systems of the transport agency of San Francisco (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency; SFMTA). Hackers attacked the payment terminals, computers of employees of underground, mail servers, and other resources related to public transport.

For regaining control systems hackers asking for a ransom of 100 BTC (Bitcoin), which corresponds to 73 000 dollars. Interestingly, due to criminals using mail

registered in the “Yandex”.

After the incident, the agency has made travel on the subway for free, in order to minimize the impact of attacks on passengers.

For hackers used a version of the software HDDCryptor, designed to encrypt data on hard drives. As a result – the data that the attackers gained access, were encrypted, and for the keys that will allow them to decipher, asking those same 73 thousand dollars. Such a small amount seems a little strange, considering an attack on an institution.
