Debut of mobile processors MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 with ten cores

The company MediaTek has introduced a family of mobile processors in two new Helio – X23 chips and X27, equipped with ten cores.

As the founder of the series, Helio X20 chip, new products are made of 20-nanometer technology. They are made in accordance with the Tri-Cluster architecture: one of the computing units combines two productive core Cortex-A72, the other two – four core Cortex-A53. Frequency formula Helio X23 solutions and Helio X27 – 2,3 GHz / 1.85 GHz / 1.4 GHz and 2.6 GHz / 2.0 GHz / 1.6 GHz, respectively (see comparison chart.)

The composition includes a graphics accelerator processor ARM Mali T880 MP4: its frequency is 780 MHz in the version of Helio X23 and 875 MHz in the modification Helio X27. Provides support WQXGA format display (2560 × 1600 pixels). The chips allow to encode and decode video in the resolution of 4K × 2K at 30 frames per second.

In addition, the products contain LPDDR3-800 controller RAM with support for up to 4GB of RAM, a cellular modem LTE FDD / TDD R11 Cat-6 (up to 300 Mbit / s), wireless adapters Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth, GPS / GLONASS receiver.

The new chips implemented advanced energy conservation technology EnergySmart Screen, optimizes the display settings according to the displayed content and the current light conditions. Furthermore, it declared full support for dual cameras.

MediaTek said that the first mobile device on Helio X23 processors and Helio X27 will appear in the near future.
