According to The Economist Times, Apple is planning to build a distribution center in India, also to convince the government to realize more Apple Store in the country.

To achieve this distribution center, Apple will work with its logistics partner DB Schenker, which will have the task to run as soon as this new structure. The objective of this distribution center in India is to ensure lower prices in the country, more control over the supply chain in India and more chances to open new Apple Store.

Currently, iPhones are sold in India in collaboration with third parties, but Apple’s goal is to open its own stores around the country. Local regulations, however, require that to open their stores you need to invest in the country relative to production and / or distribution of the products sold. With this investment, Apple should definitely get the government to authorize the opening of new Apple Store in India. In addition, the company will be able to better manage the supply and prices in the country.
